Cultivating creativity through travel and social impact photography.

Cultivating creativity through travel and social impact photography.

John and Lisa Merrill create images to evoke wonder and wanderlust, inspire action, build businesses, and strengthen communities. Through their company Merrill Images, they use visual storytelling skills to fuel the communications of diverse clients. Their specialties include travel and social impact photography.

The Merrills are represented by Getty Images and Danita Delimont, and their images have been featured in books, websites and other media, including National Geographic Traveler, Smithsonian, Geo, Sunset and Outside magazines.

For John and Lisa, photography is a lifelong journey of mindfulness and expression. They relish opportunities to learn while exploring the world and connect with people they photograph. John and Lisa use their skills to help non-profit organizations doing vital work, especially those improving education and tackling the climate crisis. Their “Witness to Hope” exhibit of social impact photography was on display at the Seattle Foundation in 2018.

Based in the Seattle area, the Merrills often do nature and adventure photography while hiking, cycling, rafting and skiing in the Pacific Northwest. They enjoy helping others cultivate their creativity via private coaching, workshops and international photo tours.
