Fast and light-weight, best without a filter
I read a lot of reviews for this lens prior to acquiring it, and since then it has been my "primary" prime! Very light-weight and compact with a quick auto-focus. I recommend using a high-quality clear filter / or not one at all (instead use a lens hood), because I noticed with cheaper UV filters there's significant internal reflection.

My go to lens for shooting subjects
Great portrait lens! This is a great lens for shooting people or animals. It focuses on the subject and blurs out the background, creating stunning images! It is my go to when shooting subjects.

Light weight, as expected lens that does what I want.
Just finally received my lens and getting the hang of it. I use it to take photos of my puppy and it's doing a great job as I was looking for something with a lower F stop. It's lightweight and great for traveling.

Holds its own against the might 45mm 1.2 PRO
Had an opportunity to shoot the 45mm 1.8 against the new 45mm 1.2 PRO. While the 1.2 PRO was awesome and earns its price tag with weatherproofing, manual focus clutch and "feathered" bokeh, the little 1.8 version is just as fast to focus, is very sharp and contrasty, exhibits wonderful bokeh, and is worth every penny of its less-than-1/3 price of the 1.2 PRO. And the 1.8's diminutive size allows me to shove it in my bag's accessory pocket and carry it everywhere. Love this lens.

Little gem
This is a great little versatile lens. It fits in a coat pocket and is a very useful focal length. Works well in low light, indoors or out. It's sharp, has nice bokeh and contrast. You may even find sometimes too shallow DOF at F1.8 for portraits if you like everything in focus. Works as a landscape, general purpose lens too.
