Great Lens
Excellent all-around lens, loving using it. Really loving my new E-M1 Mark II camera and this lens.

Terrific Lens - love it, go to lens
Great lens, solid body construction and the weather proofing is a wonderful feature, focus is quick, love the 2.8 aperture. Coupled with my OM-D EM1 Mark II it is perfect size and weight. Traded in the 12-42mm lens that came with the camera for this 12-40 mm lens, found it much sharper and have never regretted the swap.

Great combined with the OMD EM-1 MkII
They were offering a great deal on this lens with the purchase of an OMD EM-1 MkII. The combination of lens and camera is superb. While it does not have a huge zoom range (3.33:1), it is fast at F2.8 across the entire range. That combined with the 5-axis image stabilization of the EM-1 allows me to take hand held photos at concerts in clubs at reasonable ISOs (6400 and below). I am also a firefighter. I was deployed to the Camp Fire in Paradise, CA, and the lens and camera exceeded my expectations. It's not perfect, no lens is. It is one of the best I have ever used. The build quality is superb and the weather sealing works. My only complaint is a common one in these reviews. The lens cap blew apart pretty quickly. I bought a pair of $8 62mm lens caps at a local camera store and they have held up. With two, I seem less likely to lose one <wink>.

Great Standard Range Lens
This is a relatively light and compact lens with great image quality. Very sharp and fairly fast. In terms of usage, it is a bit overshadowed by the 12-100pro, as the additional range comes in quite handy.

Love this Lens
After having my OM-D camera for almost 2 years, I decided to replace the M.ZUIKO 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II R lens that I use most of the time. The logical upgrade was the The Olympus M Zuiko 12-40mm f2.8 Pro. The Olympus M Zuiko 12-40mm f2.8 Pro is a wonderful lens. Sharp, nice contrast and color, nice bokeh. The manual clutch is fantastic and the focusing and zoom are silky smooth. Off center performance is very good, subjects well off center have decent focus and contrast. The front element does not rotate during focusing and zooming, making accessories such as circular polarizers easy to use. This lens is considerably larger and heavier than the lens it replaced (13.5 oz vs 4 oz). The metal housing also makes the build feel very solid. The lens balances a bit forward on the front of an E-M10 but it is not really an issue.
