Not worthy of the Olympus brand
Write it off, poor design, easily broken. Mine broke with minimal handling and online forums indicate its useless to try to put back together again. Apparently, there are off-market replacements for a lens hood that fits just as well, for the Canon EOS EF 135mm f/2.0L that are under $10 and may stay in one piece. I'll go in that direction.

IS durable and works well with the m.40-150 mm f/2.8 PRO Lens
There have been complaints about this lens hood, yet I have had mine now for three years with no issues. I did buy a second lens hood, which I am going to use only because I have scuffed the original to a small degree. I do like the design of the 300 mm f/4 hood better, but then that lens is twice the price and was introduced two years after this lens and hood.

bad hood design on an otherwise great lens
As already noted by almost all reviewers the back ring comes off spilling tiny parts - usually where they can never be found again I have all the Olympus pro lenses and all have been functional & durable except this hood - time for a re-design to something like the hood on the 300 f4 which functions exactly the same but is more compact, simpler, and far more durable

Falls apart
In less than a year, my lens hood has fallen apart two times. First the original, second the warranty replacement hood from Olympus. The lens & hood have been carefully handled by an amateur. This is far from what I expect from professional gear.

Falls apart
This Lens hood has fallen apart several times and I have finally resorted to contact cement to hold it together. Not the quality that I expected from Olympus.
