It’s all about the glass. Our 25mm f1.2 PRO achieves spectacular edge-to-edge sharpness – even at the maximum f1.2 aperture – thanks to its incredible collection of glass. We’ve assembled 19 lens elements into 14 groups to create the most complex Micro Four Thirds lens ever made, including Super ED, ED, E-HR, HR, and aspherical elements. Spherical and chromatic aberrations that often occur in fast, prime lenses are eliminated. Color fringing is thoroughly suppressed. All that’s left are clear, crisp images you can’t wait to show off.

  • THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BOKEH

If you love shooting with shallow depth of field, the 25mm f1.2 PRO does it beautifully. Its high optical performance eliminates aberrations, distortion, and fringing in both focused and defocused areas, even with a wide open f1.2 stop. Paired with the ultra-high resolution of the focused areas, the defocused background creates a natural looking three-dimensional effect. Shoot stunning portraits with sharp details and beautiful bokeh that emphasizes your subject in both bright and low light.

  • EXHILIRATINGLY-FAST AUTOFOCUS

Many autofocus lenses have a trade-off: they use multiple moving elements to reduce aberration, but their focusing speed slows down as a result. Fortunately, there are no sacrifices with the 25mm f1.2 PRO. At the heart of its design is a lightweight inner focusing mechanism that uses a single lens element. It provides ultra-fast ultra-sharp autofocus performance, even at the lens’ widest f1.2 aperture. The Movie and Still Compatible mechanism provides quiet, smooth focusing – a must have for videographers.

  • TECHNOLOGY CREATES VERSATILITY

The 25mm f1.2 PRO uses a tandem of coatings for ultimate shooting versatility. Zuiko Extra-Low Reflection Optical (ZERO) lens coating is adapted from multi-layer film disposition technology in Olympus’ industry-leading microscopes. Z Coating Nano, our most advanced coating yet, adds nanoparticle technology for increased effectiveness. Ghosting and flares caused by in-frame light sources are virtually eliminated. Whether shooting directly into the sun or other backlit environments, your images stay rich in detail with superior resolution.

  • WEATHERPROOFED TO NEVER MISS A SHOT

Shoot in adverse conditions without worrying about your lens. The premium metal construction of the 25mm f1.2 PRO is hermetically sealed to keep out moisture and dust for splashproof, dustproof, and freezeproof performance (all the way down to 14°F / -10°C). This professional lens is the perfect complement to a weatherproof OM-D body, a combination that’s ideal for taking advantage of every photo opportunity.

  • PRO CONTROL

Pros need effortless control of their gear. The 25mm f1.2 PRO lens delivers. The customizable Lens Function Button (L-Fn) lets you control your choice of camera functions right from the lens barrel, including Focus Peaking, AF Stop, and Magnify. The conveniently-located Manual Focus Clutch on the lens’ focus ring lets you instantly shift between auto and manual focus. You can even preset a focus position using the easy-to-read distance meter, and by pulling the ring toward you, instantly return to that position from AF mode.

An agile, high quality normal lens
This lens appears large and heavy for a normal lens, but it is very well balanced on the E-M1 mark II. I have only used it for one event, but with low light and fast moving pets the f/1.2 aperture provided sharp and blur free results. I was very happy to have the lens.

Great Low-Light, Bokeh Capabilities
The 25 mm F 1.2 pro is my fourth Olympus pro lens, after the 12-40 F 2.8, 40-150 F 2.8, and 7-14 F 2.8 zooms, so first a few comments on the pro lens line in general. Amazing optical quality, features, and feel are why I keep coming back for more. Although hardly a professional photographer, these lens make me look and feel like one. That said, recognize that these lens have heft. While Olympus is recognized for quality 4/3 cameras that are smaller than the Nikon/Canon competition, attach one of the Olympus pro lens and you will be adding significant weight to your camera—and camera bag. For those wishing to travel light, the pro lens may not be for you. The 25 mm F 1.2 is a great walk-about lens in that what you see with the naked eye is what you see through the view finder. It also offers great low-light capability and bokeh pop. At F 1.2 you can literally take decent pictures in the dark. Just beware of the VERY shallow depth of field at F 1.2. Particularly for close subjects, you need to be very careful that you are focusing on exactly what you want since much of rest of the picture will be a blur. Because in auto or program mode, the camera will often default to F 1.2 in lower light situations, I’ve found it’s better for me to use aperture preferred so I can better control the depth of field. In sum, I like the lens, but unless you need a rugged pro lens with great low light and bokeh capabilities, this might not be the lens for you.

Amazing Walk Around Lens
Out of all the new PRO prime lenses I thought this would be my least favorite but it turns out it's my favorite! I love this lens. It's really the perfect walk around lens. It renders beautiful bokeh. A little front heavy on smaller camera bodies but not uncomfortable to carry all day. I simply love putting this on the PenF and going on photo walks with nothing else. It does great in low light clubs. I've gotten some great concert photos with this lens.
