M.Zuiko ED 9-18mm f4.0-5.6 at a Glance

Until now, super-wide-angle lenses tended to be big, heavy, and expensive, making it difficult for most camera users to take advantage of them. The ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 9-18mm F4.0-5.6 promises to change all this. With its ultra compact and lightweight design and the outstanding portability, thanks to the DSA (Dual Super Aspherical) lens, available only with the Four Thirds System, this lens will make super-wide-angle photography friendlier and more affordable. Despite its compact size — it's just 49.5mm long and weighs a mere 155 grams — this lens boasts a long focusing range equivalent to 18-36 mm on a 35-mm camera lens.

    FOR ON-THE-GO

M.Zuiko everyday lenses offer a solution for every shooting situation, whether you need a convenient low-profile lens or a high-powered zoom.

    • ZOOM ALTERNATIVE

This lens is a great alternative to previous Ultra wide-angle zoom lens designs that have traditionally been very heavy…and very expensive.

    • FLEXIBILITY

The combination of two Dual Sided Aspherical, lenses, and aspherical, ED and HR glass helps minimize distortion and aberration.

    • SPECIAL LENS HOOD

If you’re expecting to be doing a lot of outdoor shooting in bright conditions, the hood will really help prevent strong side or stray light from causing unwanted ghosting aberration.

    Mountains A Dawn

    ALTERNATIVE TO EXPENSIVE ZOOM

This lens is a great alternative to previous Ultra wide-angle zoom lens designs that have traditionally been very heavy…and very expensive. The Olympus 9-18 zoom is neither. This makes it a great addition to your camera bag. With 2x magnification, it captures the full panoramic beauty of both natural landscapes and man-made architecture – great for interior shots, as well as close-up portraits of friends and family. It just might become one of your favorite lenses.

    FLEXIBILITY WITH DSA

The combination of two DSA, or Dual Sided Aspherical, lenses, and aspherical, ED and HR glass helps minimize distortion and aberration and delivers excellent image quality at whatever focal length you choose. This lock button you see on the side of the lens is depressed when you want to collapse it for storage.

    BAYONET CONNECTION LENS HOOD

There is a bayonet connection lens hood available for this lens – and if you’re expecting to be doing a lot of outdoor shooting in bright conditions, the hood will really help prevent strong side or stray light from causing unwanted ghosting aberration. This lens does have a 52mm filter thread and readily accepts UV, Polarizer, or just plain old protective filters if you need them.

Perfect for everyday travel use.

Outstanding travel lens. My interest in photography is primarily cityscapes and street. I resisted temptation and purchased this 9-18mm rather than the bigger, heavier, and 2x more costly 7-14 Pro. It was totally the right decision for my purposes. So small and light; especially when attached to my em10 mark ii body. And results are outstanding. Great color, contrast, sharpness at iso200 for daylight shooting. Perfect travel companion.

Great Landscape Lens

I really enjoy using this lens for landscape shots while out on the trail. It takes excellent photos and has a wonderful zoom range for getting shots of nature. It's fun to use it for macro shots, too. The light weight of the lens makes it very easy to carry along on long, tough hikes.

So versatile

At 9mm, this is obviously a great lens for interiors or panoramic views. But at the 18mm end it is a great general purpose lens with excellent sharpness and image quality. A great lightweight lens to keep on your camera at all times.
Add this compact and lightweight M.Zuiko lens to your system so you can shoot like the Pros.
Add one of these popular accessories to your bag to extend the functions of your lenses and keep your gear safe. *Please note, this lens comes with a Lens Cap (LC-52C) and Lens Rear Cap (LR-2).
