    HIGH PERFORMANCE

M.Zuiko PRO lenses are built for the highest level of performance, incorporating fast apertures and weathersealed construction.

    • 180° OF CREATIVE SHOOTING

Stand still and look straight ahead. Now look to your left and right – and imagine being able to capture a photograph that presents this panoramic perspective.

    • SEALED FOR PERFECTION

For such a sophisticated piece of photographic equipment, the M.Zuiko PRO 8mm fisheye is surprisingly rugged.

    • GO EVEN WIDER

Using the “Fisheye Correction” function in Olympus Viewer 3 v1.5, users can correct the distortion created by the fisheye lens to get an ultra-wide angle photo with an approximate view-angle of 9mm (35mm equivalent).

    180° OF CREATIVE SHOOTING

Stand still and look straight ahead. Now look to your left and right – and imagine being able to capture a photograph that presents this panoramic perspective. The M.Zuiko PRO 8mm Fisheye, with a full 180° view, allows you to do just that. And it’s lightweight and portable enough to throw in your camera bag without a second thought.

    UNPARALLELED OPTICAL PERFORMANCE

The sophisticated, performance-proven design of the M.Zuiko PRO 8mm Fisheye’s lens architecture (17 elements in 15 groups) dramatically reduces, chromatic and comatic aberration. Its proprietary ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating virtually eliminates ghosts and flares from backlit scenes. And its precision optics maintains pin-point sharp resolution right up to the edges of the frame – even at a wide-open f1.8 aperture.

    SEALED FOR PERFECTION

For such a sophisticated piece of photographic equipment, the M.Zuiko PRO 8mm fisheye is surprisingly rugged. There’s no need to baby it – with weather-sealing in five separate locations, you’re the only one who has to worry about rain, wind and dirt…and it’s even freezeproof down to 14°F (-10°C). Imagine your best nature shots from a striking fisheye perspective!

    SHOOT WITH THE FISHES

Where else would be more appropriate to take a fisheye lens but…underwater! The PPO-EP02 dome port available for the M.Zuiko 8mm f1.8 PRO lens lets you go eye-to-eye with the denizens of the deep and bring back cool shots to prove it. The dome port is compact and designed to maximize the lens performance whether you’re shooting over/unders, macros or just hanging around the reef.

*PPO-EP02 is compatible with the E-M1 and E-M5 Mark II Underwater housings.

USE THE 8MM FISHEYE AS AN ULTRA WIDE 4.5MM LENS

Using the “Fisheye Correction” function in Olympus Viewer 3 v1.5, users can correct the distortion created by the fisheye lens to get an ultra-wide angle photo with an approximate view-angle of 9mm (35mm equivalent). The superior optical design of the 8mm fisheye lens offers minimal deterioration of image quality in the corners of the image. The fisheye Correction feature of Olympus Viewer 3 is also compatible with 40MP High Resolution Shot images.

The World's Most Versatile Wide Angle Lens

Adding some thoughts to what other users of this lens have already mentioned.... <br /> <br />The combination of a fast fisheye with computational photography makes this lens much more versatile than other fisheyes. <br /> <br />IT can de-fish not only in-camera, but in the viewfinder, so it effectively becomes a rectilinear F1.8 super wide angle; <br /> <br />The digital teleconverter in OM cameras that takes the sharpest central area of the image and upsamples it turns this lens into a 32mm F1.8 fast, rectilinear street photography lens. <br /> <br />Whereas there is no substitute for a properly-used fisheye perspective for any number of memorable super-wide-angle images, the added versatility of this lens when combined with an OM body makes it a more compelling alternative to the other super wide angle M.Zuiko pro lenses: the 8-25 F4.0 and the 7-14 F2.8. <br /> <br />Compared to those two wide angle zooms, this lens is smaller, lighter, much faster and offers what many shooters consider a more dramatic perspective for ultra-wide-angle images (i.e., fisheye) while also allowing very wide and medium wide rectilinear views. <br /> <br />For all of those reasons, this lens arguably represents a better alternative to the ultra-wide-angle Pro zooms. It does require additional skill to use effectively compared to a wide angle rectilinear zoom.

PRO Lens with pro quality and optics

This is a PRO quality lens in terms of construction and optics. A fisheye lens may not be for everyone, but the E-M1 Mark II and E-M1 Mark III offer in body fisheye correction, which is working quite well for me. <br /> <br />This was a much smaller lens than I expected it to be, easily the smallest PRO lens in the m.Zuiko lineup. <br /> <br />The field of view is 180 degrees, somewhat less if you use in body fisheye correction. My primary interests are landscape and wildlife, and for the former this renders quality images corner to corner, corrected or not. I do not pixel peep, I shoot for the enjoyment of photography and to improve my skill set. <br /> <br />If a wide angle prime interests you, it is difficult to get more wide than this, and you have the build and optical quality of a m.Zuikoi lens.

Sweet sharpness and wide aperture for Starscapes

Super sharp. Awesome lens for starscapes. You can really reach into the heavens with this lens . The 1.8 aperture and wide angle allow for a lot of light to reach the sensor. The fisheye adds an interesting creative look.
