Worth every penny!

Amazing camera for the price! Straight forward set-up, easy to use, intuitive menu, perfect with wide angle zoom lens for everyday use. Had it only for a few days but love it already.Only criticism: the button symbols are difficult to see on the brown exterior of the camera, but once you know where everything is, one can easily survive this. Love the selection of lenses - even with a tele lens, the camera is still light enough to carry around with you all day.

Highly recommended.

A few years ago I went to one camera and one prime lens. I sold all my other equipment. I found the 28mm equivalent lens I was using was too wide to be comfortable. Olympus had a sale leading me to purchase the E - PL9 and he 25mm f/1.8 lens. This is now my one camera with a 50mm equivalent prime lens. I have never taken pictures with a phone. I have many years experience starting in film photography. Don't be fooled, This camera is more than an excellent beginners camera. It is small but powerful with full picture taking control. It is an very good everyday, walk around camera (street photography and more). It is comfortable to carry, easy to handle, and produces marvelous images. If you are looking for a reasonably priced quality camera. This is the one.

Great upgrade from shooting on your mobile device.

This is my first "real" camera. I was drawn to the PEN E-PL9 mostly as an upgrade from shooting on my iPhone. I did a fair amount of research and decided to purchase the PEN 9 this year after the PEN 10 was released and the 9 was discounted. I saw that there was basically no difference in the models and Olympus dropped the price during the COVID-19 pandemic. Out of the box, this camera is not only ready to go, sexy looking too. The LCD screen is the viewfinder as well as the display. The dial on top gives access to numerous setting. To be honest, I'm still navigating my way through it all after a month of owning the PEN 9. The WiFi connection to the Olympus app works fairly well. It's nothing fancy but it gets the job done of transferring your photos from the camera to your phone. I feel that this camera is a major upgrade for people looking to switch from taking photos on their mobile devices. I opted for the bundle with a memory card, lens, and carrying case. I also took advantage of the Olympus sale and purchased an additional zoom lens. I'm still familiarizing myself with the PEN-9, but so far it's a winner for me. I look forward to adding more lenses to my collection and capturing great photos with this camera.
