      You demand the best. Our autofocus system delivers. The heart of our technologically advanced system is 121-point all-cross type on-chip Phase Detection AF. It does one thing really well: locking focus on any subject, in any environment. Each AF point is cross-type for reliable vertical and horizontal tracking. The points are spread across the entire image sensor for maximum autofocus coverage. You’ll capture fast-moving subjects and split-second action every time.

      PRO CAPTURE

      The most challenging shot in photography is capturing action that’s quicker than the blink of an eye. Think of the instant a salmon swimming upstream breaks through the water and disappears. Pro Capture Mode nails those near impossible shots. It starts buffering a running series of 20MP images when you press the shutter button halfway. At the moment you want to capture, press the shutter button fully. You’ll get that moment, plus the buffered shots. Because you can go back 14 frames, you’ll have the exact shot you want. Never miss an exciting, split-second scene again.

      TOUCH AF/TOUCHPAD AF

      Control the AF frame based on the way you’re shooting. If you’re using the viewfinder, simply drag your thumb across the rear monitor to use as a trackpad. If you’re shooting with the monitor, instantly select your focus point by tapping the display. When you enable Touch AF Shutter, tap the monitor to focus and shoot simultaneously.

      AF TARGETS

      Accurately capturing your subject is easier with one of six AF Targeting Modes. Use Single for landscape or shooting with a tripod. 5-point tracks moving subjects clustered together and 9-point AF Target is for moving objects like an airplane or an athlete. 25-point AF Target focuses on smaller moving subjects such as a flying bird. 121-Point AF Target tracks subjects moving through the entire screen while Small provides extra-fine, pinpoint focus.

      50MP HIGH RESOLUTION SHOT

      Taking a 50MP photo is as easy as setting up a tripod and attaching the E-M5 Mark III. Our Tripod High Res Shot Mode does the work. The image sensor automatically moves in 0.5 pixel increments while taking 8 shots in under a second. The shots are merged together creating one unbelievably detailed, super-sharp image.

      ANTI-FLICKER SHOOTING

      Improve indoor photography with our Anti-Flicker Shooting Mode. It compensates for artificial light by automatically activating the shutter at peak brightness to smooth exposure and color difference between frames. A Flicker Scan feature eliminates striped patterns caused by flickering light on the monitor by setting a shutter speed so the patterns aren’t noticeable.

      LONG EXPOSURE MODES

      Something for long exposure enthusiasts. Live Composite Mode stitches together multiple images shot at the same shutter speed, keeping the images from getting too bright. It’s an easy way to capture dramatic photos of star trails, evocative nighttime cityscapes and moody landscapes without worrying about over or underexposure. Live Bulb Mode and Live Time Mode let you see the exposure level of your image in real time so you’ll know when it’s perfect. The E-M5 Mark III takes all the guesswork out of long exposure photography.

      CUSTOM MODE

      If you’re into a specific type of photography, you may have a favorite setting. Now they can be accessed instantly. Just turn the mode dial to the Custom setting and shoot. Your go-to settings are also transferable. Save them to your computer with Olympus Workspace and the Olympus Digital Camera Updater. You can then copy them to another camera or send to your friends with the same model camera.

    Lightweight, compact, compelling images

    The E-M5 Mark iii is my first foray into MFT territory. After retiring 3 years ago, I decided to get back into photography after only using point-and-shoot for 50 years. After 6 months of research, I bought a Nikon Z6 and a few lenses. While the cachet of full-frame felt good, lugging around the body and lenses detracted from our travel experiences. So I started moving down to APS-C format, but found the ergonomics not comfortable. Still dissatisfied, I decided to give Olympus a shot, and it was the best decision of my life. Lightweight, great grip and balance, pocket-size lenses, and spectacular image quality have made me appreciate what I was missing. I have a 12-200mm lens on the camera most of the time, a 17mm f/1.8 for low light, a 12-45mm f/4 for focus-stacking, and a 14-150mm which I will sell. Super compact and easy to carry. I have found my new home thanks to Olympus.

    Great camera to take traveling

    Great camera for traveling. Not heavy as other cameras. Has everything I was looking for-bracketing, sequential shooting, Raw and Jpeg saving-and simple to operate. Love it.

    Great camera that is small and light weight.

    This is a really great camera that has super functions in a very small and light body. I see me using it as my "walk around" camera. It seems very solid and well made and takes great photos. The dust and splash proof features will be perfect if I am out photographing in damp conditions.
