M.Zuiko Digital 1.4x Teleconverter MC-14
Details
Ideal for getting extra close to your subjects beyond your lens’s capability. The MC-14’s splashproof, dustproof and freezeproof all metal construction is compatible with the M.Zuiko ED 40-150mm f2.8 PRO and the M.Zuiko ED 300mm f4.0 PRO.
By placing this teleconverter between the camera body and lens, you can increase the magnification of your subject up to 0.6x (equiv. 35mm) and extend the focal length by a factor of 1.4x (40% more reach). When coupled with the M.Zuiko ED 40-150mm f2.8 PRO lens, a maximum focal length of 210mm (420mm equiv. 35mm) can be achieved. Macro shooting is possible at a working distance of 20 inches (50 cm). When coupled with the M.Zuiko ED 300mm f4.0 IS PRO lens, a maximum focal length of 420mm (840mm equiv. 35mm) is achieved.
Please note: When using a 1.4x teleconverter, you lose 1 stop of light, so for example, when using an f2.8 lens, the widest aperture you can use the lens at is f4.0.
Compatible with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F2.8 PRO and M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO lenses. Compatibility information as of January 2020.

Tiny Awesomeness

This is almost an essential accessory for the 40-150 2.8 PRO, as it extends your reach to 420mm equiv without adding any noticeable bulk or weight. And, unlike my experience with major manufacturer DSLR 1.4x converters, doesn't noticeably affect sharpness, focus speeds or contrast. The corners may measure a little soft in a lens test, but you can't see it in photos. Photos made with the 1.4x look every bit as sharp as those made without. Its always in my bag with the 40-150 Pro.Read More

Great image quality.

I love this extender. I’ve had a few over the years and they affected the quality of image(sharpness & contrast). But looking closely at images produced with the 40-150 f2.8 they are incredible. One would not have any idea an extender is in use.

Perfect!

This teleconverter works flawlessly with the 40 - 150 PRO lens. Image quality is not visibly effected. It is light and ruggedly built. A no-brainer if you need some extra reach.

Use without fear

On the M.40-150 PRO on both E-M1 and E-M10 I see no reduction in color, contrast or IQ. If you want a 420mm f/4 that is lightening fast and seriously sharp, this is the way to go. I can't wait to use it on a 300 f/4!

Essential Accessory Well Made
-
If you are going to splash out for the 40-150 PRO Lens you should absolutely extend its range with this teleconverter. It is a useful amount of magnification (from 300-420mm FF equivalent) that can make a big difference in the size of your subject without degrading the image quality. You will only want to use it within that range because of light loss (f/4 instead of f/2.8) but I find myself attaching it frequently to get that much closer to birds in trees or skittish animals. It comes in a padded pouch that can clip on the lens bag included with the zoom. Compact, useful and high quality.Read More

A necessary piece of kit
-
I purchased this several months after the pro 40 to 150 zoom. I can say I am not disappointed. It is just what a quality 1.4 times converter should be (having used others.) Construction is solid and the optical performance as good as it gets. The price is also reasonable for the flexibility it delivers. When mounted on the 40-150 there is very little image quality difference. This extender is a must for bird photography.Read More

Very nice performance with a surprise feature!

If you're taking shots of the moon with your 40-150pro, get this adapter. The added detail without sacrificing sharpness is just awesome! Quite by surprise, I discovered that this teleconverter also works with my M. Zuiko 50mm Macro (4/3 mount). In this instance, the correct M4/3 to 4/3 adapter is essential. I actually have both the Panasonic and Olympus adapters. Trying the Olympus first (it is weather sealed afteral!) I found that it feels too tight and just won't quite lock into place with the teleconverter. I'm not sure if it would work by forcing it a bit, but the Panasonic adapter slides into place with minimal effort, so I chose to not risk damage. But combined with the teleconverter, my 50mm becomes a 70mm macro, and opens up new options. I'm sure the teleconverter would work on other 4/3 lenses as well, but the macro was just a really nice surprise!Read More
