I wanted to like the ECG-4 grip on my Pen-F, but I was disappointed to discover that it obstructs access to the bottom edge of the articulated screen. I normally use my thumb on the bottom edge of the screen to quickly flip it open, and with the ECG-4 on the camera I couldn’t open the screen this way. Instead I had to grab the screen by the top right edge, which was more fiddly and time consuming, and my right thumb was in the way. As a street photographer I frequently flip the screen open to grab a shot from a low angle, and with the grip it was quite frustrating using the camera. I gave up and returned the grip. Otherwise it's a well-designed grip that improves the handling of the camera with larger lenses, so consider whether access to the bottom edge of the screen is important when deciding whether or not to buy the grip.
Got the grip on the Christmas promotion. I had to wait for it to arrive at my local camera shop so I got to use the PEN-F for a week before without it. I was fairly happy without the grip even with the pro lenses attached when good camera holding technique is used. However, once The grip arrived, the PEN-F ergonomics went from good to fantastic. The grip material and design makes my black Pen-F easier to hold now and I can securely hold it without fear of slipping. Its a worthy add on especially if you use arca-swiss type tripod heads. If you got the Silver PEN-F it does look out of place, but that's just my opinion on the aesthetics.
The grip for the Pen F certainly helps to hold the camera more comfortably with larger lenses. I find it especially helpful when grabbing the camera from my camera bag and using my 14-150 and 75-300 lenses. As others have mentioned, it's a bit clunky and awkward to attach and detach from the body. Most likely I'll just leave it on all the time, though. The grip is well made and seems very durable and it centers the tripod hole better, which I've used already. I bought a pair of tweezers to keep in my camera bag as they are really needed to get the SD card out when the grip is attached. Not a big deal. All in all, a good addition to the Pen F.
