The HLD-8 (HLD-6P & HLD-8G) is an optional dust- and splashproof battery holder and grip created especially for use with the Olympus E-M5 Mark II. The device can be separated into two parts -- one tailored to shooting in landscape orientation and one that's ideal for portraits. The landscape unit includes a built-in shutter button as well as a dial for locking the grip onto the bottom of the E-M5. -

The HLD-8G Grip is a dustproof and splashproof grip that can be used alone when necessary. The HLD-8G is equipped with a headphone jack for recording movies while listening to recorded audio. This is for the grip only. This will mount on the E-M5 Mark II. The HLD-6P battery holder (sold separately, or also sold as a kit) is the same as the HLD-6 for exclusive use with the OM-D E-M5.

It features a shutter button for shooting with the camera held vertically and two control dials and two function buttons for the same easy controls as when shooting from a horizontal position. This is for the power grip only.
HLD-6 Owners Please Note: This product is identical to the Battery Grip portion of the HLD-6 grip made for the E-M5. If you already own that grip, you can use it with the E-M5 Mark II when combined with the new HLD-8G Grip. This will mount on both the E-M5 (with HLD-6G Grip) and the E-M5 Mark II (with HLG-8G Grip).
