Hunter & Sarah Lawrence

“Our goal with photographing Aspen is to capture as much of his personality as we can in a single image. The things we love about him, we want to share. Period.”

We’re Hunter and Sarah Lawrence, owners of Aspen, a 6-year-old Golden Retriever in Denver, Colorado. We love taking Aspen hiking in the wilderness, swimming in cold rivers and just hanging out. He’s been featured on television and seen in magazines all over the world, from CNN to Outside TV. Aspen lives by a few simple words: there’s so much to be smiling about!

TOP TIPS FOR GETTING PET PHOTOS THAT STANDOUT SOCIALLY

1 Your pet has the most beautiful face in the world. Make sure it’s always clear in photos. We count on the Face Detection autofocus feature on the E-M10 Mark III. When you look at Aspen’s photos, his facial features are always sharp.

2 Your pet looks best in soft, diffused light. They have so many unique features and distinctive markings that you never want to lose them in shadow or highlights.

3 Sink to your pet’s level. Get on the ground, get dirty and shoot from your pet’s point of view. The E-M10 Mark III’s compact size and tilting touch screen makes getting these types of shots easy.

4 When shooting Aspen’s portrait, we use a M.Zuiko 12-100mm F4.0 IS PRO lens (24-200mm in 35mm equivalent). For shooting landscapes with Aspen, we use a M.Zuiko 12-40mm F2.8 PRO lens (24-80mm in 35mm equivalent).

  • Get The Perfect Shot Of Your Pet

You love photography and you love your pet, but you don’t have time to memorize camera user manuals. Olympus has designed the E-M10 Mark III especially for you. The simple to use tilting screen and touch menu controls make framing your shot and choosing settings easy. Use Silent Mode to silence all camera noises, perfect for shy or startle-prone animals. Shoot fast with 8 frames per second continuous shooting so you always capture the best moment (because redos with your pet can be tough). And with the E-M10 Mark III’s shake-free image stabilization, you can easily capture sharp still shots and smooth 4K video while hand holding your camera, no tripod needed.

OLYMPUS FAMILY SPOTLIGHT

Amanda Strozeski

“I love being able to capture a dog's personality in my photos. Whether it helps them find a home, or is a moment in time preserved for a family - nothing is better than letting them show off who they really are.”

I'm Amanda Strozeski, dog owner of Barclay, a 9 year old Pomeranian rescue in Pennsylvania. After I started working at Olympus, I began to photograph Barclay and created his Instagram to preserve memories and share his happy smile. Three years later, I work with shelters throughout Eastern PA to take rescue portraits that help dogs find new families, and run workshops with Olympus to help teach other photographers how they can work with shelters. It's the perfect marriage of the two things I love most: dogs and photography!
