About Austin

A member of the Olympus Visionary Program since 2012, Austin Lottimer first caught the attention of Olympus when he and his brother, Maitland Lottimer, won the Olympus PEN Your Short 48 Hour Film Contest at the 2011 Vail Film Festival by shooting their entire award-winning film “Running Colors” with the Olympus PEN E-PL2 camera.

Since then, Austin has gone on to work on a variety of film projects for Olympus, including extensive work at the 2012 Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival and the TG-1 iHS launch video.

Austin first got his start making short action films using his father’s cameras, and he continued to build on his love for all things film and cinematography by shooting several extreme skate and BMX videos.

When he was 16, he started working professionally for Good Time Golf, a travel golf adventure television series for FOX Sports. There he began cultivating his trade, working on 52 episodes as a sound man and camera operator. Over the next several years, Austin worked on numerous independent film projects, filling such varied roles as key grip on a HD feature film to commercial editor to stunt choreographer, until he and his brother started their own film company, Bujin Productions.

Since then, Austin has produced numerous shorts, commercials, events and industrials. He recently released “Before the Last Drop,” his first feature-length documentary, among other projects that also leverage Olympus digital imaging and audio devices, including Austin’s favorite camera, the Olympus OM-D EM-5.

When he’s not behind the camera, Austin’s interests include music production, metal sculpting and sports such as martial arts, fencing, archery, kite boarding, skiing and snowboarding.
