Zuiko Lens ED 18-180mm f3.5-6.3
This is lightweight, compact and with a great 10x standard zoom lens covered to the range of distinct telephoto effect. It is equivalent to 36-360mm on a 35mm camera. The almighty lens can cover most of shooting scene. The closest focusing distance is down to 45cm in entire zoom area, and 0.23x (equivalent to 0.46x on a 35mm camera) of magnification allows you close-up shots. Two ED lenses and two aspherical lenses compensate each aberration to give the high-performance in entire zoom area.
Directly compatible with E-System cameras. Compatible with Micro Four Thirds digital cameras (PEN\OM-D) through use of the MMF-2 or MMF-3 (Four Thirds Lens Adapter to Micro Four Thirds Lens Adapter). The MMF-3 is dust and splash proof for use with that type of lens on a dust and splash proof body. Note, AF performance may diminish as compared to being on an E-System body.

Very useful range for a very compact lens. Very sharp images for a zoom. I adapted this lens to my OMD EM-5 and really like it. for the focal length of 36-360mm. I find a lot of times 100mm isn't enough but I don't need 400mm so this lens fits a common use. I carry a fisheye and a 12mm prime when I need a wider lens. No lens with a reach of 360mm will go wider than 36mm and no 28mm lens has more than 300mm of reach. Works well adapted to Micro 4/3 bodies. Autofocus not as fast as newer lenses but good quality and very compact for the reach and image quality. Good color and DOF. For good light if zoomed out. A good match for the OMD bodies. Handles well on them. And older one but I like this lens, had good luck with it shooting distant objects, especially using focus assist and 5-Axis IS.Read More
Underrated Lens in the Lineup
First and foremost, this lens is a part of the SG range of Zuiko lenses. There are also HG lenses, of which I own three (11-22, 50 Macro and 50-200) and there are also SHG lenses, of which I own four (7-14, 14-35, 35-100 and 150). A comparison with these higher grade with more refined optics and build would be unfair. Within its class, I find this lens to perform quite well, with the added benefit of the 10X telephoto range. I find the lens to excel in near macro and close up settings. Yes, this lens performs better with more light, and typically that is when I shoot with the SG lenses. This is a step up from the kit lenses, and offers the shooter a versatile and well built lens for a variety of situations.Read More
Lense I use 90 Percent of the time
This lens is the one lens I take everywhere, there may be sharper lenses but this one is fine for most things. When you don't want to carry a lot of weight or be ready for any type of shooting this is the one I take.
Great for family photos - Not so good for business
I have had this lens for several years, and have taken it all around the world and taken 10's of thousands of pictures with good luck. When I started using this for eBay images the lens was OK but required a ton of light to allow proper focus and the long focal length required I use a tripod even at 100 or 125th of a second to get a sharp image.
softspot, lots of noise, needs plenty of light
lots of noise unless you have light, light, light, then still needs touch up, Good lens for its specs, olympus needs to rethink its lens diversity and quality and get rid of its lowerend and reset the price for upper end and high quality lenses.
