Good value lens, but poor manual focus.
I like its sharpness, which is not perfect, but good for the cost. I like to use it with the 1.4 converter for bird photos. Auto focus is good and accurate, but with twigs and leaves near the bird, manual focus is preferred. Unfortunately the focus ring action is too abrupt, making fine focus difficult and slow. If the angular turn was 2 or 3 times greater for the same focus change, it would be much better for me.

Great lens but questionable hood build quality
Great Lens, hard to fault it except in build quality of the lens hood. The ring comes apart and doesn't snap back into place. I love the 300mm F4 hood, this, not so much. Will spend more money and see if a replacement works any better. Hopefully it'd not indicative about the rest of it's build quality as it's my favourite lens for IQ, just have to pick up the hood off the ground every so often.

My favorite event lens!
I do not own this lens, but I have rented it at least a dozen times this year. For low light situations, nothing beats this lens along with an E-M1 and it should be even better with the E-M1 mkii's high ISO ratings. I use this lens primarliy with an E-M5ii and it's fantastic as well. I've shot multiple events, including weddings and had great results. Focus is fast and accurate. I usually shoot without the hood, mostly because it's bulky. Wish it matched the lines of the rest of the lens and was slimmer. I will not lower the rating because of a lens hood though, this lens is fantastic.
