Overview

M.Zuiko ED 9-18mm f4.0-5.6 at a Glance

Until now, super-wide-angle lenses tended to be big, heavy, and expensive, making it difficult for most camera users to take advantage of them. The ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 9-18mm F4.0-5.6 promises to change all this. With its ultra compact and lightweight design and the outstanding portability, thanks to the DSA (Dual Super Aspherical) lens, available only with the Four Thirds System, this lens will make super-wide-angle photography friendlier and more affordable. Despite its compact size — it's just 49.5mm long and weighs a mere 155 grams — this lens boasts a long focusing range equivalent to 18-36 mm on a 35-mm camera lens.

  • ALTERNATIVE TO
EXPENSIVE ZOOM

This lens is a great alternative to previous Ultra wide-angle zoom lens designs that have traditionally been very heavy…and very expensive. The Olympus 9-18 zoom is neither. This makes it a great addition to your camera bag. With 2x magnification, it captures the full panoramic beauty of both natural landscapes and man-made architecture – great for interior shots, as well as close-up portraits of friends and family. It just might become one of your favorite lenses.

  • FLEXIBILITY WITH DSA

The combination of two DSA, or Dual Sided Aspherical, lenses, and aspherical, ED and HR glass helps minimize distortion and aberration and delivers excellent image quality at whatever focal length you choose. This lock button you see on the side of the lens is depressed when you want to collapse it for storage.

    More
  • BAYONET CONNECTION
LENS HOOD

There is a bayonet connection lens hood available for this lens – and if you’re expecting to be doing a lot of outdoor shooting in bright conditions, the hood will really help prevent strong side or stray light from causing unwanted ghosting aberration. This lens does have a 52mm filter thread and readily accepts UV, Polarizer, or just plain old protective filters if you need them.

Nice "starter" wide angle
This is my go to vacation lens. Takes great pictures and is lightweight, which I very much appreciate! Good pricepoint if you're looking to break into the wide angle lens game, as well!

Good, Wide and Small
This is a very decent lens and can give pretty good results. Its has range from wide (18mm full frame equivalent) to mid-wide (35mm), and I find that even though its just a 2x zoom, its a rather useful range. I also find that the small size is a huge plus, both in terms of its easy usability when on my E-PM2 or E-P5. Its smallness also makes it an easy one to have as a spare with you lens, even in my pants pocket.
