My name is Jill Homer. I'm 29 years old and
I'm the deputy managing editor at a
newspaper in Juneau, Alaska. I started
snowbiking when I first moved to Alaska in
2005 as a way to stay in shape during the long subarctic winters, and started taking photos as a way to document the beautiful scenery I encountered on my rides. The landscapes are my reward, and during low times when I am tired or in pain, my photographs are there to remind me it's worth it.

So when conditions get rough, it pays to have a camera you can count on to not only take great pictures, but that will still work in cold, snowy, remote places. I carried a STYLUS TOUGH-8000 in this year's Iditarod Trail Invitational race, and I use it almost daily to capture photos for my blog as well.
