Overview

High-performance Diagonal Fisheye Lens with 180° field of view. The focal length is equivalent to 16mm on a 35mm camera, and the focusing range is incredible with a working distance down to 2cm from the lens front. With great depth of field, exaggerated perspective and extreme deformation, the marvelous image of fisheye lens make your image world broaden. ED lens greatly reduce chromatic aberrations to provide the highest image quality with high resolution and contrast.

Directly compatible with E-System cameras. Compatible with Micro Four Thirds digital cameras (PEN\OM-D) through use of the MMF-2 or MMF-3 (Four Thirds Lens Adapter to Micro Four Thirds Lens Adapter). The MMF-3 is dust and splash proof for use with that type of lens on a dust and splash proof body. Note, AF performance may diminish as compared to being on an E-System body.

Customer Reviews of the Zuiko Lens ED 8mm f3.5 Fisheye

A sharp fisheye (and an ultra wide rectilinear, too!)

I've enjoyed this sharp beauty for a year or so on my OM-Ds with its m43 adapter. It simply covers things other lenses can't encompass. Vast vistas can be brought into view (do take care with camera level and central placement of the horizon) — and, it's not just a fisheye. With Olympus Viewer 3 free software (and other utilities) it can be 'fish eye corrected' into producing stunning ultra wide rectilinear images. Two lenses in one! It's a bit large, but all the best fisheye lenses are. It handles well, and it's waterproof with its MMF-3 adapter.

Olympus Fisheye 8mm

This is a great lens at a reasonable price. It has a solid feel and produces eye catching shots. It's easy to want to shoot close quarter shots with this lens. You'll quickly find that it's a fun lens which has wide application. The fisheye curvature can produces dramatic effects.

It goes without saying that the shots, given proper lighting, are crisp and sharp. I highly recommend.

AMAZING LENS, FUN TO USE

I just received this lens, and mounted it to my E-500, took a bunch of test shots, and that was all I needed to Know what I have gotten into!

First off, this is not my first fish-eye lens… I had a 16mm OM Fish-Eye for my OM-1, and I truly enjoyed that lens. But, I had to part with it, and since then I have always wanted to replace it. This lens does the job.

This 8 mm feels really balanced, but I cannot agree with the other reviews about it being too heavy. It weighs the same as my 11-22mm lens; and it actually feels great when mounted.

The perspective affects you can create is what this lens is all about. It opens up a new “vision” for me, giving me a different approach to creating more striking compositions. My goal now is to shoot the Grand Canyon, ANY mountain vista, and Macro, with a fish-eye.

A DREAM COME TRUE

I just received this lens, which I got to look at before my wife wrapped it for Christmas, so I was allowed to mount it to my E-500, and verify that it worked, and that was all I needed to know what I have gotten into!

I accidentally tripped the shutter… (twice) and found the images to be impressive; the curves created bring back memories of my old OM fish-eye. Can’t wait to get it out of the box, and really get familiar with it.

The price is a bit high, but not as high as some fish-eyes for other camera brands. But if you want one, there are still ways to get one. (check the camera outlet stores)

Excellent Lens Adds Creativity

I bought this lens to enable me to acquire some more creative shots. It ended up being so much more than that. The colors are exceptional, and all of my photos have been clear and crisp with minimal flare. I have used this lens for architectural photos, macros, and outdoors photos. I especially like how with outdoors photos it captures your entire field of view, giving you a shot no other lens can produce. An excellent buy despite it weighing as much as the camera body.

An excellent lens for the creative photographer.

I love this lens. It never disappoints me. The focus is fantastic and the colors are great. A lot of people ask me with an element of curiosity what I use a fisheye lens for (as if it has limited uses) but I think the lens is especially useful for architectural arches, large ceilings and art images. I took this lens backpacking with me through the middle east and found that it consistently produced images that portrayed the enormity of the mosques and palaces I visited, unlike my standard lenses which could never capture the whole room in one frame. This lens has radically changed my photography for the better.

Cons: It's a little heavy.
