Compact and good
Size and portability matters. I took this lens with me on a month long, trip to Italy. One month. One carry on suitcase. My friends with full sized cameras (and heavy bags) decided each day whether to carry their cameras. I put my OMD and this lens into my purse. Or tucked under my jacket.
On the train, up the hill, through the market, on the boat, on the hike, into the stores - whereever. It was lightweight, unobtrusive and delivered great quality.

Nice very small and versatile lens
I guess the saying is true: The best camera - is the one you have with you. Combined with a pen camera you will get a system that is almost pocket able. You press the on button of the camera - the lens drives into position the automatic lens cap (optional accessory ) opens and here you go.
Picture quality may lag behind prime lenses, but not much and you are still going to be in a different ball park compared to phone cameras

Great compact lens
I purchased this lens for backpacking and camping with my OM-D E-M5, and it works great! The lens is very small and light, and yet allows versatility with the zoom.

Compact, but with reservations.
In addition to fielding a good number of Olympus primes and the Olympus pro zooms, I figured it would be a good idea to pick up this lens for the compactness I was lacking with my current array of options. I have to report that it's decently sharp, but that's about it. There are compromises to make lenses like this, at a price like this and you should know them before you buy.
There is some softness in the corners, the electric zoom is slow, and the aperture range standard for a zoom, but the big thing I noticed between this lens and the primes especially, was the color saturation. The color on any prime or pro zoom I have is much, much clearer and stronger, with no artificial adjustment. Something to consider, especially if you do not post process your images. Things look a bit flat and dull without a bit of a boost.
Otherwise this lens hits its intended marks for me.

This lens is a beautiful picture taking lens. I also have the M.Zuiko 17mm 2.8 lens. They are both great. I have taken pictures of the squirrels and a chipmunk that I throw out nuts to and they all crop beautifully to use as desktop photos.

Convenient little zoom lens
I bought this as a replacement for the M.Zuiko 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 IIR lens, which came included with my E-PL6. With the EZ on the E-PL6, the camera is almost as small as a typical point-and-shoot camera. Combined with the auto-opening cap (which you have to buy separately) it makes the camera quite convenient to carry around like a typical point-and-shoot.
The optics on the EZ are a little crisper than the IIR. The EZ is also able to focus on objects a little closer to the camera. The only downside of the EZ compared to the IIR that I can see is the zoom lens on the EZ are driven by an electric motor or servo, while on the IIR they are manual.
